A Letter From Our Board

The Life Story Club Board of Directors is pleased to announce Kimberly Harris as the new Executive Director as of January 5, 2026.  Life Story Club combats the loneliness epidemic facing older adults by organizing intimate social clubs to share life stories, foster connections, and enhance a sense of purpose and belonging.  Life Story Club prioritizes serving vulnerable homebound older adults who are often low income, experience health challenges or who are from immigrant communities.

Kimberly Harris has a passion for serving older adults and has demonstrated an entrepreneurial spirit in her previous experiences with nonprofits and organizations serving the aging. Kimberly has a track record of strategic innovation and developing and executing compelling growth strategies. Before joining Life Story Club, she was a VP and cofounder of Health Tequity, LLC, a company that advances health equity through digital innovation and community collaboration. She has held leadership roles at an international nonprofit that supported intergenerational connections, a tech startup that promotes health and wellness for mobility-impaired older adults, and a New York City-based nonprofit that supports older adults in the use of technology. She has also worked as a consultant on a variety of projects to advance digital equity, promote trauma-informed care, and support best-practices for funders in the field of aging. She is a strategic leader who is skilled in program design and development and brings along a strong national network of established relationships that will help Life Story Club advance its mission.  With Kimberly’s leadership, Life Story Club is poised to enlarge its impact in New York City and beyond.

The Board is grateful to Jennifer Wong, PhD, who served as interim Executive Director for the past year and transformed Life Story Club’s reach and impact. Under Dr.  Wong’s leadership, Life Story Club expanded to all five boroughs and cultivated community partnerships that strengthened the member referral process, enabling clubs to reach more vulnerable older adults and deliver vital social connection and health benefits. Dr.  Wong secured major funding for Life Story Club and elevated the organization's visibility through consistent earned media in outlets like CBS News, CNN, and Spectrum News, and she leveraged Life Story Club’s successful model to launch a working group designed to grow the model nationwide. Thanks to Dr. Wong’s leadership, Life Story Club enters this next chapter with expanded capacity and as a recognized innovator and collaborator in improving the quality of life for older adults.

In the early months of 2026, Kimberly Harris will reach out to all of Life Story Club’s storytellers, partners, friends, advisors and donors to encourage your engagement and support. The Board looks forward to 2026 as a year of continued growth and accomplishment for Life Story Club.
